Ted Simon’s Triumph Tiger 100

Jupiter’s Travels, one of the most dangerous books in motorcycling for anyone suffering even the mildest symptoms of wanderlust, is the story of Ted Simon‘s four year, 54 country, 63,000 mile trip around the world on a police-issue Triumph Tiger 100.

I’ll be coming back to Ted’s books, which I’m a big fan of, on this blog. But for now if you ever wondered what happened to the bike on which he completed his journey, look no further. With commendable foresight and generosity, Ted donated it to Coventry Transport Museum where it resides to this day.  Hope you enjoy a few snaps of what you might call a proper adventure bike…
